FOUNDATION:

Reinforced footings have drainage tile both inside and out. Waterproofing is applied to the top of the footing to prevent moisture from wicking into the wall.
Wall is 10" thick and reinforced per an engineer's specs. A waterproofing product is applied to the exterior and a layer of poly and 2" rigid foam insulation is applied to the inside.
The floor is 2" poured concrete with a poly moisture barrier beneath

2x6 exterior walls are framed using the principles of Advanced Framing (a system designed to use less lumber and provide more than normal space for insulation).

Breathable, high-density house wrap is used to prevent water and wind infiltration.
Windows are installed using Tyvek's special products and procedures.
Ice and water membrane is installed around roof edges and in valleys to guard against the formation of ice dams.
Roofs are vented using vented soffits and a ridge vent for constant movement of air up and out.
The crawl space is insulated and conditioned with no vents to the exterior. This prevents infiltration of moist air.
Exhaust fans are installed in all bathrooms and are controlled by a timer that can be set to run long enough to remove all moisture. Range hoods are vented to the outside.

Windows are Energy Star® rated, argon gas filled double-pane glass, maintenance-free vinyl frame, an upgraded type of Low-E glass that protects against heat loss or gain and fading.
Exterior doors are insulated fiberglass that won't crack, swell, rot, dent or rust.

Exterior walls are bown-in cellulose to R-19; Attic is blown-in to R-38; Spray-in foam is used around windows and exterior doors.
Framing joints in exterior walls are caulked to prevent air infiltration.
Certain interior walls around bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry are insulated for sound.

Plumbing specifications include Pex flexible, freeze-resistant tubing, PVC drain and vent piping and electric hot water heater.
Electrical specifications include 200 amp circuit breaker box, NMB cable, 14 gage lighting circuits, 12 gage outlet circuits, 15 & 20 amp breakers.
Telephone outlets are network-ready Cat-5. Fiber optics is installed to the home.
