SOUNDPROOFING
- Two insulated, completely separate floor systems are installed to provide excellent soundproofing between units. A 3/4" special sound board product is attached to the underside of the upper floor system and a gap is left between the two systems. In addition, nearly all 1st floor interior walls are constructed below the lower floor system and are completely isolated from the 2nd floor framing. This isolation is key to preventing transference of sound. All penetrations of plumbing pipes between floors are sealed with a soundproofing foam or caulk. HVAC ducting is not installed in these floor systems.
